Position Summary

Brief Description of PSU/School/Dept

Portland State University seeks to enhance the intellectual, social, cultural and economic qualities of urban life by providing access to a quality liberal education for undergraduates and an appropriate array of professional and graduate programs especially relevant to the Portland metropolitan area.

The Office of Information Technology (OIT) provides academic and administrative computer support and communications for the University. This position exists within the Enterprise Solutions department of OIT.

Position Summary

In this position, you are accountable for the success of projects under your coordination , with the guidance of the Project Management Office. The Project Coordinator plans, executes, and delivers their projects on time and within scope in accordance with business priorities. Throughout the lifecycle of each project, the coordinator tracks project tasks, communicates project status, and manages project teams. Typical projects may include: network expansions, system upgrades or major enhancements, business process analysis reviews, new system implementations, system integrations, and software migrations.

Primary Activity A - Administrative
Minimum Qualifications from Classification

-Four years of experience as an executive assistant, administrative analyst, researcher or administrative officer which included administrative duties, provision of technical assistance, or operations review. Two of the required years must have included administration or oversight of an on-going project or program.

A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Public Administration or a closely-related field may be substituted for up to two years of the required experience. There is no substitution for the two years of administrative experience.

Note:
Preference may be given to individuals with experience in a specialty area specific to the position opening.

Additional Minimum Qualifications for this Position

- Proven experience facilitating multiple projects at one time
- Excellent facilitation, collaboration, and presentation skills
- Strong communication skills including both oral and written
- Demonstrated proficiency with a business organizational software suite such as Google Apps
- Must be comfortable using technology to manage meetings and organize information
- Successful completion of background check

Preferred Qualifications

- Higher education experience
- Google Apps and/or Jira or Confluence experience
- Business Process Analysis experience
- Must be comfortable with ambiguity, frequent change, or unpredictability
- Bachelor’s degree

Total Compensation Range & Benefits Statement

The starting annual salary rate for this position will be between $48,000 and $50,000/year with an excellent benefits package including 95% premium-paid healthcare for employees and family members; significantly reduced tuition rates for employee, spouse, or dependent at any of the seven Oregon public universities (details and restrictions apply); and a generous vacation and retirement package. PSU contributes approximately 13% of your compensation to retirement with no requirement for a matching contribution from employees.
